Perfect Knight

“Perfect Knight” was what Stan Musial was called and included on his statue. Stan was a friend who called me when he would come to New York and we would go out to dinner. On one occasion he called and I set up a dinner with Lionel Hampton ( who I wrote and produced) and my friend Earl “The Pearl” Monroe who lived on the same street as me, 88th and Columbus in NYC. Our significant others were there and this painting was from a photograph from the evening. This is a “Conversation Piece” as written over the heads of each person were the topics and discussions from the evening. It was a perfect night honoring my friend the “Perfect Knight “ and yes he was all that and more. I painted this in honor of that evening.
